Today we finished the Cultural Universals of Pi and transitioned to applying these universals to ourselves. here is the assignment:
Don't worry about labeling A or B (this applies to block and we are a split). Make sure to label each of your traits so I can easily see which is which. This is due Thursday. Here is another example that includes examples of surface, shallow and deep culture if you need ideas!
Today we spent the period defining Pi's culture. If your group will be unable to finish in class tomorrow in the first five minutes, spend some time on your own finishing up the areas you still need. Remember, this is just for your reference, so the beginning of quotes an page numbers as well as bullet pointed analysis is great!
Today we reviewed the annotations you did yesterday and then we started on the 8 Cultural Universals of Pi. Please do not do this for homework this weekend! We will continue on Monday. No homework!
Today we worked on close reading strategies with Life of Pi. If you and your partner have 2 or more sections left, you need to finish this at home.
Today we talked through the rest of the strategies. No homework tonight! Bring your book tomorrow!
Today we started talking about mental strategies for critical reading. We will finish this tomorrow--no homework tonight!
